ya the view is pretty spectacular and the way they've done the swimming pool lets you feel like you're kinda swimming in the sky but personally, I think they've completely spoilt the effect by letting so many gawkers in. The swimming pool feels more like a viewing gallery at an aquarium than a private exclusive hotel pool of a top notch hotel.
Is the swimming pool open to anyone or only customers ? and at any hour of the day/night ?? Cannot find a gawker in my online dictionary, I guess it can be translated by "penguin" :p
In Burj al Arab in Dubai, you need to reserve places at a specific restaurant in advance, just to enter the premises. Once you enter, you can only visit common areas and the restaurant at which you reserved. You also need to make a minimum expenditure.
Its the same here. but the trouble is, the restaurant areas are not separated clearly from the swimming pool areas and restaurant customers can wander down to the deck chair areas.
I'm not sure what time the swimming pool closes but this is the first swimming pool I've seen where its actually more packed late at night than in the day! lol. People come here not to swim but for the night view. :P
The pool area is only for hotel guests and there is an upper deck level for restaurants where you need a firm booking to enter as well as a 3rd Public area you can access for an entrance fee.
Very impressive !!!
ReplyDeleteIs it Leong Junior on the pic ?

ReplyDeleteMaybe they need to adopt the Burj al Arab strategy.
