  1. Hmm let me guess. This is your new love-nest?
When ready, do share with us the real settings..
    :-)

  2. Umm, we were almost there... but we stayed downstairs.

  3. When ready, you're all invited to a party. It'll be the new hangout place for Urorpersia and some people I suspect. I'll have my wide screen projector mounted so that we can have movie marathons. I intend to convert the balcony into a nice tea-table seating area for sipping tea/kopi and watching the sunset or to place my telescope for some southern nightsky viewing. Will have display shelves in the library besides Waikit's and my books, for my projects; fossils, antique weapons, catapults etc.

These are just some of my conceptual sketches. Most likely I'll only have money to do half the things I really want to do. Quite a bit of renovation needed. Both toilets need to be retiled and redone. The kitchen needs new cupboards. My library screams for a raised platform and bookshelves. I would love to have a raised platform for the living hall too but that's on the wish list. Then there's furniture..... sigh.

  4. Could help you with the raised platform... could steal some flat planks from the wood factory of Sungei Kedut and hammer them together for you... but then, it would look more like a tree house than a love nest.

  5. oh, you know where to get raw wood? I'm seriously debating whether to do some of the carpentry work myself.

  6. Hmm, lovely. My own lovenest is only in my dreams...:P

  7. I'd extend the same invitation in anticipation for, say, 10 years down the road at the very least. ;)

  8. Oh btw, Waikit and I always believe in an open house policy to friends and family so you're all most welcome to come by even unannounced. We love company. Friends and family are what make a house a home.

  9. Ok, cool! But I'll be sure to give a call in advance, at least. I never drop by unannounced. Be careful Taman Pantai Teluk doesn't become Mok's new haunt. :P

  10. umm... you just issued an open cheque and yes, we will certainly make ourselves at home at your home.. hehehe.

  11. I'm wondering if Mok can steal this design for her own library/study? :P

  12. ... and ah Moon, even your boss is welcome. Our home is extremely dog friendly. ;)

I miss having dogs. I used to have german shepherds. Might get a dog later to help keep our shoes well chewed.

  13. You're most welcome to it. I'm amending it as we speak. The final product will look decidedly different from that sketch. I sketched most of these concept plans two years ago and have been using them as a template while browsing furniture shops and the concepts have changed over the course of those 2 years in my mind since, especially after seeing some newer ideas as well as throwing out the ideas that have become too common place and used by others. ;)

  14. The catch here of course, is that this open invitation is only applicable to considerate people. ;) We boot out inconsiderate people. ;) Open door in also means open door out. kekekeke

  15. Wow I thank you on behalf of my boss, he will surely love the idea.. but be warned, he will steal all the attention and be the lime-light of the day..not because he is cute, but because he is just so noisy!!
    haha!

  16. Frist, will check out the timber for you.

Second, if I get booted out... I will stand at the foot of your block and.... (have thought of what to do yet... but hey, it would certainly be something that you will make you still up and scream for help)

  17. oh cool! If you can find me a good cheap source of timber, I just might be tempted to do the platform and shelving myself, and you get upgraded to my A-list of people not to boot out of bayshore park unnecessarily.

  18. Just called my hubby for the timber, he said you may be able to find it in Sungei Kadut at better price. We have a small tiny platform as a study area for the boys to do their work and play.

  19. That's a great idea... well, need to find which place would sell wood... and then, LJM can go buying... you sure want us to help hammering the nails in huh?

    ReplyDelete
  20. Ok you A-list approved people. I'll drive over to Sg. Kadut this weekend and see what they have. I can manage all the hammering, hacking and sawing on my own but thanks for the help all the same. No need to get your delicate hands all rough and dirty lah. I would love to try and raise both the library floor as well as the living room floor. I like the feel of timber under the feet.

  21. Personally, I always prefer minimalist ... the less furniture ... the better (built-in wardrobes and bookshelves excluded).

Rugs, cushions, a couple of beanbags ... just fling them aside when it's time to clean the floor.

Okay, so I'm lazy too :P

    ReplyDelete
  22. Depends on how old are the folks.... some old folks cannot go down onto the floor... then, that would be a problem. If have old folks best to reconsider.

  23. Someone mention timber? Keep me in the loop!

    ReplyDelete
  24. I dont think Treemen like me seeing how I prefer them logged and planed. But I would indeed love to know where I can get my hands on planks in various sizes.

  25. Got some new measurements of the place on Saturday. Gotta change the ideas a little. Made some new sketches and modified some of the old ones.

Might be shifting the masterbedroom toilet entrance to the other wall and put in a wardrobe where the door currently is instead to try and increase the room's useable space. The kitchen also needs to be reworked. Baobei doesn't want so many cupboards to clutter her kitchen. In the kitchen, she's the boss. Her rules.

  26. The balcony on the other hand.... that's mine. ;)

  27. The Liang-loft is almost ready....

  28. umm.. sounds like the housewarming is definitely coming closer....

    ReplyDelete
  29. yes it does seem to be finally coming closer doesn't it? "Coming closer" is a relative phrase... the renovations just seem to keep going and going and going...

    ReplyDelete
  30. like the pebbles with the wooden planks.. feel like walking on them already..

    ReplyDelete
  31. Told you we could help with the splashing of paint... but then, you really don’t need avant-garde interior deco. Blame who?

    ReplyDelete
  32. The professionals can do it faster and neater without our help. With our help it will probably take a little longer.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Moon... the zen writing table... like this one?

    ReplyDelete
  34. gosh this is beautiful!!! this is precisely what i am looking for. i like this very much... thank you for offering.. now i need to know where to find the wood..
;-) gee... so nice of u..

    ReplyDelete
  35. Kekeke Yup. When I saw it, it was love at first sight and I HAD to have it.

So find me wood and I'll make one for you. Consider it payment for all the nice fried banana and red bean soup you made for us to eat.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Many thanks, really appreciate your thoughts, although I swear I did not expect any returns, except your friendship. ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  37. That's exactly why I'm more than happy helping. ;)

  38. Sigh. I'm uploading the final photographs of bayshore park as I type this. I just read through all the old comments from Moon's Oct 27 '06 post to the last one Apr 20 '07 and feel such a mixed set of sadness and happiness.

Officially the house is no longer mine, the sale was finalised on the 1st Nov '10 but I'm finally handing over the keys and all access to the house today. We spent our last and final night there on Wednesday night and shifted out our things on Thursday. Watching the movers move our things out and slowly watching the house turning empty was just so sad for me. This was my first house. We lived almost 4 years here. My son's first 9 months we spent here. There were so many great parties with you guys here. So many fantastic memories. It was a good house which kept my family safe and well. Sigh. I will sorely miss this place. Maybe one day I'll own this house again. Few things make me cry, this is one of them....

    Good bye Bayshore Park.

  39. Farewell Bayshore Park..
    Cheer up KM.. Hugs..
