You should see Thomas Chen's collection. He's got exact replicas of Song era Architectural text and exact replicas of the 4 most famous Chinese paintings.
I think I went a little crazy. Just uploaded another photo of 5 pre-qin arrowheads I just got as well. The top ttwo and the bottom one are dated Warring States while the third and fourth from the top are Zhou dynasty. Number 3 from the top is the oldest.
Ok, the Western Zhou Ge and the 5 pre-qin arrowheads are finally here! The package arrived just 20 minutes ago and I haven't stopped smiling yet.
The Ge is gorgeous as are the arrowheads! I think I'll go to IKEA and pick-up something that'll allow me to mount them for display. Also need to get some liquid dessicant to remove the humid Singapore air.
I just had a chat with Richard Nable about these arrowheads of mine. The top and bottom ones are most likely warring states crossbow bolts. The others are normal arrows.
The arrowheads I will frame similar to my framing for the fossils, complete with description ala museum style.
The Ges I'm not sure yet. Thinking of mounting them onto clear perspex poles and authentically tied with twine. Then have either two single glass cases or one large case with the Ges-on-the-pole standing upright, again ala museum style.
Got my two Ge's mounted with glass cases. Quite happy with the results.
Also, Kenneth's recent visit to Singapore yielded me a large Han crossbow trigger mechanism, miniature Han crossbow trigger mechanism and a Dian culture bronze sword hilt with iron tang and corroded blade.
Oh yeah, the Dian sword hilt is dated to the Han dynasty and is actually an Iron sword with a bronze coating for the hilt. You can just see iron rust pushing it's way out on one part of the hilt from the rusting of the iron tang inside.
Latest auctions from Richard Nable's Collections. Mr Nable I can vouchsafe that his stuff would be genuine and not the fakes flooding ebay. He sometimes lets go items at very, very low prices to make room for new acquisitions so an all round good deal if you asked me.
What's a hanjian?
